IBM will cease operating Global Expense Reporting Solutions as a standalone product, effective March 31, 2016, and instead will refer customers to Concur, according to The Beat. Concur on Tuesday officially announced “a strategic alliance” with IBM to “jointly market Concur’s solutions to global enterprises.” Its announcement noted that “IBM will continue to provide T&E back office services to clients who procure expense services and solutions from Concur.” IBM committed to honor all customer contracts scheduled to run beyond March 2016. A spokesperson told Business Travel News that the company will “cease operations of GERS as an individual offering. It will be incorporated into our client [business process] solutions and Concur will pick up the exposed clients who don’t want the rest of the IBM solutions.”
