Poll Results – Important factors In Choosing an Expense Management Solution.

Now for the results and a quick summary. We left the poll up for over 10 days and had very good participation among our readers. We likely received an uptick in traffic due to the interest of decision-makers at NBTA this week in San Diego. We could not confirm participation from Fortune 500 companies, therefore this could contribute to why travel integration was viewed as less important. However, we did have participation from all sizes of SMBs, as well as enterprise and Fortune 5000 companies.

  • Results would suggest that cost of the application continues to be one of, if not the most important factor in selecting a vendor. This is understandable considering that often the key reason for adding an expense application is to reduce cost throughout an organization.
  • Ease of use received virtually the same number of votes which is consistent in what we have heard regarding frustrations with implementation, training and use.
  • Applications with a robust feature set received the third most votes.
  • It is more important for the expense application to directly integrate with the accounting system, than to provide integration with a travel tool or have mobile capabilities.
